100 Year Old Colonial Home

Minneapolis, MN

This historic 100 year old colonial home in Minneapolis was reimagined with a fresh perspective, blending classic architecture with modern updates. The phrase, “they don’t make em like they used to,” is fully embraced here from the beautiful plaster walls, the original turned wood railing up the stairs, to the rosette crystal door knobs. Traditional elements like crown molding and original hardwood floors were preserved, while modern fixtures, a monotone color palette, and classic furnishings breathe new life into the space. We did break one “colonial” rule by opening up the space between the kitchen and dining room to create additional storage, seating and entertaining to bring the “old world” into the new from a funactionality perspective. The result is a home that feels both timeless and inviting, honoring its heritage while embracing modern living.
